Description
This black abstract painting, Crossed Ink, lays heavy black strokes across a pale cream and grey ground, in a bold gesture that reads from across the room.
Thick, loaded brushwork crosses the canvas in broad bars and trailing edges, with a layered palette-knife background in soft cream, warm grey and ivory. The contrast is strong but calm, and the raw, hand-made surface gives the piece weight and movement.
- Gives a living room, office or entryway a bold, graphic focal point
- Horizontal format that fills a wide wall above a sofa, console or sideboard
- Real built-up texture you can see and feel, with light and shadow that change through the day
- Black, cream and grey palette that pairs with natural wood, stone and neutral interiors
- Available with a handcrafted floater frame (3.5 cm deep, 1 cm front width) in several finishes
- Made to order, ready in about 2 weeks
Each Original Painting is made to order, hand-painted on linen in mixed media and signed on the back by our Rossetti Gallery artists, with initials and the year it was completed. The Rolled option arrives with a 5–6 cm painted margin around the image. The optional floater frame is sized to fit your canvas with the correct floating gap, so there is no need to order a separate frame.

❓ FAQ – Original Paintings
1. What makes your original paintings unique?
Each original painting is designed by Chiara Rossetti and individually hand-painted by the skilled artists of the Rossetti Art studio, closely following her original design. Using premium materials and professional-grade paints, every piece is genuinely hand-painted — not printed — and ships with a certificate of authenticity from the studio.
2. Do you offer free shipping for original paintings?
Yes! We provide free worldwide shipping. Each painting is carefully packaged with protective layers and insured to ensure safe delivery.
3. How long does delivery take?
Original paintings usually ship within 2 weeks. Delivery times depend on your location:
- USA & Canada , Europe & UK: 5–10 business days
- Australia & New Zealand : 5–15 business days
- Rest of the World: 10–15 business days
Once shipped, you will receive a tracking number.
4. What if my original painting arrives damaged?
We take every precaution with insured shipping. In the rare case of damage, please send us photos immediately. We will work with you to provide a solution, either repair or replacement if possible, depending on the artwork.
5. What is your return policy?
Because each original painting is individually hand-painted to order by the Rossetti Art studio from Chiara's design, we're not able to offer returns or refunds outside of damage or delivery issues. We encourage you to review the artwork photos and dimensions carefully, and reach out with any questions before ordering — we're always happy to help you decide.
6. Will the painting look exactly like the photo online?
Yes — but please note that every painting is hand-painted, so small natural variations in texture, brushstrokes, and color depth are part of owning a genuinely hand-painted piece. Colors may also vary slightly due to screen settings.
7. Do original paintings come ready to hang?
Yes. All paintings are shipped on stretched canvas, mounted on a professional PVC frame, and arrive ready to hang. Larger pieces may include additional support for secure installation.
8. Can I commission a custom painting?
Absolutely! If you would like a custom size, theme, or color palette, please contact us at support@rossettiart.com to discuss your commission. Chiara Rossetti designs each commission personally, and it's hand-painted to order by the Rossetti Art studio under her supervision.
9. How are original paintings signed?
Each original painting ships with a certificate of authenticity from the Rossetti Art studio, confirming the artwork title and year of completion. Original paintings are not personally hand-signed by Chiara — each is individually hand-painted by the studio artists from her design.
10. Do you offer installment payments or bulk discounts?
For select original artworks, installment payments may be arranged upon request. Since each piece is individually hand-painted to order, bulk discounts don't typically apply, but we are happy to discuss flexible solutions for collectors or galleries.
11. Will I have to pay any customs or import taxes for original paintings ?
If your order is shipped within the United States, all taxes and import duties are already included in the price — you will not pay any additional fees upon delivery.
For all other destinations outside the USA, buyers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, import taxes, or local fees required by their country's regulations. These costs are not included in the product price

Customer Reviews
Every review below is from a verified collector who purchased and received this artwork. We never edit or filter reviews — what you read is exactly what our collectors experienced.
Beautifully packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The colours are even more vibrant in person — the red has this warm, almost textured quality that you just can't capture in a photograph. It now hangs above my sofa and completely anchors the room.
The quality is outstanding — this is genuine gallery-level printing. The frame arrived perfectly assembled and was ready to hang in minutes. Chiara's work has a quiet, contemplative quality that photographs don't do justice to. Very happy with my purchase.
I bought this as a gift for my partner and it made an incredible impression. The packaging alone felt luxurious — double-boxed, corner-protected, and wrapped carefully. The artwork itself is even more expressive in person. We will definitely order again.
